Are you Korean? Your pics are great! I never knew Korean culture and modernity each had such a distinct charm - a complementary combination - linking the immutable history of identity with the shifting boundaries of modernity. Beautiful country.

Jace 'n' Place•(-• let it avail what it may, come what may; c'est la vie •-)• May 10 Personalized Fukuyama CDI have finally completed the Masaharu Fukuyama compilation CD for my cousin, Claudine, who is learning Japanese for quite a while. It took some time but I managed to give it to her last Friday. Alas, the Japanese words on the CD are too small and she couldn't see them clearly! I also have to thank Siew Ping for the many songs that she had recommended to me!
As seen above is the actual design on a red lightscribe disc.. haha.. still looks ok right? Imagine that just as I was about to bring it out, I discovered that the song order was listed wrongly on the disc and basically, I had to redo all over again! *faint*
Here is the first song on the disc, Sakurazaka (桜坂), as described on his biography link at the top:
"Fukuyama's music is poetic, and artistic. The inspired photographer is not someone who can skip a beautiful morning walking up the hill in cherry blossoming season. "Sakurazaka" is the illustration of observation, of contemplation, and of admiration. He is this kind of a musician whose raw material is so down to the earth. He finds inspiration in the smallest things around, just like a haiku poet, never overtempted, never rushing, and never demanding..." listen March 12 So What?“THIS IS ANFIELD, SO WHAT?” was the call to arms emanating from Madrid on the morning of the game. This is the reply on the night the befuddled troops of Real retreated, well and truly humbled. Vexations about Old Trafford, Rome, 19 and all come another day. Celebrations and pride come today. And when questions like "where is Robben?" and "who is Real's rightback?" started popping in my mind during the match, it is clear that Liverpool's immeasurably lung-bursting and passionate display caused the whole opposition to be anonymous (other than Casillas), and not the other way around. The chants of "There's only one Jay Spearing" going round the stadium serve to bring more smiles to all. It finally reminds me of Valencia against Liverpool, and the saying - playing them off the park. =P January 29 Like Being Hit By A GunAfter being hit in the heart by her poignant "I Don't Love" in 2006, Baek Ji Young (백지영) blew me away with yet another heart-rending song from her 7th album titled Sensibility. This immerse song, "Like Being Hit By A Gun (총 맞은 것처럼)", can be heard just about anywhere you turn in the streets of Seoul while sweeping the music charts through the country since November last year. Other songs I like in the predominantly upbeat album includes 돌아와죠, 그대의 의자 (both ballads) as well as the catchy 멜로디 and 입술을 주고. Despite a risky operation to remove a cyst from her vocal cords last year, the deep emotions in her soulful voice has never been missing; the huskiness a little less pronounced though. I guess.. I like her voice either way, and more importantly, she has recovered! =p
Watching her live performance at the KBS Entertainment Awards was a treat, and her little laughter during the middle due to Ji Won and MC Mong giving her the lovely "heart-signs" and admiring cheers was really fun. Well, her rendition was absolutely beautiful there and I can't stop listening to this song over and over again... 총 맞은 것처럼 정신이 너무 없어 심장이 멈춰도 이렇게 아플 것 같진 않아
`·.¸¸.☁‧: translated by CHARM* @ Soompi :‧☁,.¸¸.·´ January 10 Rafa Gave Fergie The FactsRafa held an absolute peach of a press conference yesterday to rebute Fergie over comments made over the last weeks. You will have read headlines such as "Rafa rages at Fergie", "Rafa launches Fergie attack" and so on this morning. But if you were to see the actual media conference, the real Rafa that you truly see is with a fatherly smile on his face and whipping out a piece of note to lay down his facts. You'll have to see it to believe it.. I simply adore this man! Permalink: Rafa's Rant / MP4 A couple of classic swipes:
To put things into perspective, I shall quote from our fellow kopite Socratease in full: It is important to remember that Rafa was responding to the comments previously made by Ferguson. These comments were posed by the journalist, who held this specific interview, to Rafa. A lot of the media are neglecting the initial point of this already in reporting the context of his quite calm and considered response/opinion as an 'Outburst!', 'Amazing Rant!', 'Scathing Attack!', 'Furious Attack!', etc, etc. This is like reading a book without knowing the book's title and neglecting to read the opening chapter. I am sure the media will invent some more 'sensational' headlining adjectives as superlative nouns (and even verbs{!}) over the coming weekend!
And also a great article in response: "....take the pressure off Gerrard. Take the pressure off Keane. Take the pressure off the side and putting it all upon himself and the referee before Sunday. I doff my cap sir" by Paul Jones December 29 Super Happy Mission我的确超少看台湾综艺节目,也不记得我几时最后一次看宪哥在主持。
